Feeling Juicy!

by Keri | January 5 | Uncategorized | 0 Comments

Im feeling much better today. I didn't risk it by getting up unnecessarily early, of course; had coffee in bed and dreamed of fresh juice. I thought I'd drop into Benefit Juice Bar on my way ho me from yoga, but logistics...

My favorite.

I woke up this morning in my own bed, half slanted to the right and thinking about how we need to fix that bed leg that we broke before we left for California. I lifted myself out of bed to find myself in front of the bathroom mirror; my hair reflects relative...

Vegetable Sandwich & Blubharb Tarts

May 16, 2016 | food, peasant foods, plants, simple living, veganing | 0 Comments

I'm falling way behind, folks, but I'm in for the month! I'm not going to blog the repeats that we eat because we tend to eat the same things over and over; however, this sandwich - while it is a relative staple on our lunch menu - was extraordinary and worth...

“Egg” Seasoning the Veganing

May 14, 2016 | food, veganing | 3 Comments

Just about the only thing I think we really miss having is egg. As luck would have it, there is this amazing spice called Kala Namak and it tastes just like hardboiled egg yolk. Kala Namak is also called Black Salt, Indian Black Salt, or Himalayan Black Salt. You...

Coffee Date with Lovey

Yeah, he's cute and all, but there are pastries to be had. And mama ain't foolin'. Beautiful, delicious, amazing vegan pastries. But, I'm cheap, and Wildflour is not, so I always buy their "day old" cookies, 3 for $5, which is still kind of steep, but definitely more...

Magic Soup a.k.a. Phở Chay

May 11, 2016 | food, veganing | 0 Comments

Justin, reporting in. Yesterday's breakfast: Oatmeal with banana. Yesterday's lunch: Leftover chickpea "egg" salad wrap with chips. By mid-afternoon Keri wasn't feeling well and skipped dinner. I had a repeat of the Garden Wrap for my dinner. Keri still wasn't feeling...

Lazy Sundays

May 9, 2016 | food, peasant foods, veganing | 0 Comments

So last night we made our breakfast beans, and we pretty much just snacked on them all day until we both were so full of beans that we had to actually remove them from our sight (put them away) so we wouldn't continue. It was a very chill day; we were entirely...

Leftovers all day.

May 8, 2016 | food, peasant foods, plants, simple living, Uncategorized, veganing | 0 Comments

We don't have anything terribly new to report: we had leftovers all day. For breakfast we had our stand-by tofu, beans & potato burrito; for lunch we had the last of the tacos; for dinner I had the last of the spaghetti sauce (I went to a pasta-dinner fundraiser for a...
